DescriptionSituated in the foothills of the majestic Drakensberg Mountains of KwaZulu Natal and in the heart of the Midlands Meander, The Bend Country House, set in a Private Nature Reserve of over 3,500 acres, offers an exquisite blend of accommodation, intimate pub, log fires and warm hospitality in a colonial tradition dating back to the 1920's, when the establishment first became renowned for its gracious style. The Bend is a place of striking natural beauty, magnificent scenery, an abundance of both bird life and game, extensive indigenous forests and the lovely Mooi River, who's waters are rich with wild trout. It is in this setting that you are able to practice outdoor pursuits ranging from the gentile art of fly fishing and birding to hiking, horse riding, mountain biking and paragliding. DirectionsOn the N3, take the Nottingham Road Off Ramp. Turn right to the village of Nottingham Road & proceed for 7 km to the R103. Then turn right at the Nottingham Road / Mooi River sign and pass under the old railway bridge. Keep right, passing the Sherwood Service Station and the Stockyards, which will be on your left. At the Police Station, turn left onto the Lower Loteni road and travel for about 13 km. At the district road D361, turn right and continue for a further 4km, following the signs to The Bend. |
