DirectionsTake the Polokwane (used to be Pietersburg) N1 Freeway North from Pretoria. After about 130 km you will find the Kranskop Tollgate. Keep left at the tollgate and turn off the freeway towards Nylstroom. After 11 km you continue through Nylstroom towards Vaalwater for 60 km. Continue straight through Vaalwater towards Thabazimbi. 25 km out of Vaalwater you will find the main gate of Welgevonden Game Reserve on your left but continue past the main gate for a further 22 km to the Schoongelegen turnoff. Turn left on the Schoongelegen dirt road. Here is also a green sign indicating the Welgevonden West Gate and Manual Gate.
