The Sadawa Game Reserve is only 66km from Ceres and ensures an idyllic getaway. Enjoy the exciting game drive and view fifteen different species in their wild state.

The Karoo National Botanical Garden gives you the opportunity to get to know the rare plants of the drier regions of South Africa, some of which are on the verge of extinction.

The Breede River Fruit Route offers cherries, apricots, peaches, apples, pears and grapes all available to be picked. There are 58 wine cellars and two brandy cellars throughout the Breede River Valley.

This beautiful valley of the Breede River with it’s clear blue skies, majestic mountains, flowers and fynbos, is one of the largest of the three fruit and wine producing regions of the Western Cape. Apart from export quality pears and peaches, the Breede River Valley is renowned for it’s noble wines produced in the areas surrounding Worcester, Tulbagh, Robertson, Mcgregor and Montagu. Whether exploring the region by car or on foot, by bike or canoe, the beauty and diversity in landscape and vegetation will stay with you. With it’s exciting mountain hikes and climbs or easy rambles along the sparkling streams and rivers, the Breede River Valley offers a world of opportunity to the nature lover and explorer. For the less energetic, who wish only to relax and admire the magnificent views, the area offers two hot water spring-resorts – one at Goudini and the other at Montagu. The various tributary streams of the Breede River include the finest trout waters in the Cape – among them the Witsels River, the Dwars River (flowing through the town of Ceres) and the Hex River (renowned for it’s rainbow trout). Many of the mountain ranges in the area offer ski runs during the winter months when the slopes are thickly covered in snow. The Breede River Valley also offers excellent restaurants and accommodation to suit all.
